The Wilmette Police Department runs a free daily wellness check for independent seniors — call in every morning between 6 and 10am, and if they don't hear from you, an officer follows up, including an in-person check using a house key kept on file for emergencies only. Enrollment is a short confidential application, and you'll need to drop off a spare key in person.
